Meet the Staff

Monique Olguin PHR

Practice Manager

Monique is our practice manager.  She has been in the veterinary industry in one way or another for over 35 years.  She is a recent transplant from California and moved here with her daughter and small chihuahua, Marshmallow.  Most recently she adopted a little stray kitten that was found by one of our receptionists.  In her free time she likes to paint, crochet, hike, and work on her 100-year old home.

Jacob Lusk L.V.T. and "Roxy"

Jacob graduated with his Assistant certification from Apollo College in 2010.  Shortly thereafter he joined the WAH team.  He recently went back to school and received his L.V.T. from Cedar Valley CC in 12/2016.  He spends his time off playing with his 2 boston terriers "Roxy" and "Norman", and 2 cats "Dobby" and "Lucy".  He also enjoys hanging out with his human baby girl, Ellyot!

Rachel Ross and "Bastian"

Rachel is new to working in the veterinary world, having previously worked in merchandise and customer service.  She is not new to being around animals, growing up in farming country in South Dakota.  Her family took in a variety of wildlife, including snakes, birds, and a baby raccoon, as well as fostering pets for the local human society.  In her constant travels she volunteered at numerous animal shelters until finally ending up here at W.A.H. as a receptionist, in late 2016.

Jodi LVT Wandermere Animal Hospital

Jodi Lester LVT with "Eva" and "Edward"

Jodi first entertained the idea of a career in the veterinary field in 2004, when she started as a receptionist at a very busy practice.  She eventually worked her way up to the role of vet assistant and then began teaching other would be assistants at Apollo College.  After 3 years of teaching she longed to be back in a clinic setting, so she worked full time while studying to get her technician license.  Jodi feels that every patient and client is an opportunity to learn and to share her knowledge.  She thinks working in veterinary medicine is the most rewarding thing one can do.  When she's not in the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband Todd, her kitty Bernadette, and her dogs Eva and Eddie.

Nyla Nomee with "Fluffy", "Meow Meow", "Rocky", and "Misty"

Nyla joined W.A.H. as an assistant and receptionist in July 2015.  She has lived her whole life in Washington State.  She is married and has three beautiful daughters.  She also has a fun menagerie of animals including 2 dogs, 3 rabbits, and 2 cats.  In her free time Nyla enjoys ice skating and has begun racing cars.

Keshia Wright and "Gilbert"

Keshia joined the WAH family in April of 2017 as a Penn Foster Veterinary Assistant intern.  She completed her certification in June of 2017 and joined the WAH team permanently as a receptionist.  Keshia lives in Spokane with her fiance, Christopher and her 11year old pitbull, Gilbert.  In her spare time Keshia enjoys photography, art, and hiking at Riverside State Park with her canine bestie!

Heather, veterinary staff,

Heather Halvorsen L.V.T. with "Jasmine", "Sensei", and "Onyx"

Heather loves spending time with her husband and son, their Aussie mix, Jasmine and their two cats, Sensei and Onyx.  Riding her motorcycle has become one of her biggest passions.  In her free time she enjoys going on family rides, watching movies with her men, working in the yard, and camping.
